Building up your Wardrobe

We have all been there, standing in front of our closet, thinking to ourselves, "I have nothing to wear." The reality is, that even though there are clothes in your closet, they are not necessarily comfortable or stylish. Some pieces may be years old, others may be new, but if you don't wear them from time to time, what point do they have sitting in your closet? That's why we have created a list of tips to help you build up your wardrobe.

Bye-bye to unworn clothes :

You have to start from the foundation when you want to reboot your closet. To get there, you need to get rid of what you don't wear. To make things simple, divide your clothes into three piles: keep, donate or throw away. Keep what you know you wear and what actually fits. Donate clothes that are in a good state but don't use often. Throw whatever has holes, rips, or is stained.

Basics :

Basics will be your wardrobe's base. Get essential fits such as a good pair of pants, tees, blouses, dresses, and skirts in neutral colors. Once you have the main staples, then you can acquire other items with prints and patterns. By doing so, you will be able to piece outfits together instead of having random items that go unmatched.

Visualize what you will buy :

Before getting a new wardrobe acquisition, really take the time to think about it. Whether it's a deal or an expensive piece, visualize if the item you want to buy actually goes with other items in your wardrobe. Try to imagine at least a couple of outfits where you can wear the piece; if none comes to mind, don't buy it. Visualizing how you will style the new piece will spare you the money and closet space.

Stop Rushing the Process :

Building up your dream wardrobe (from scratch) will not be overnight. Finding items or clothes that make you feel confident while comfortable is easier said than done. Don't rush the process; instead, take your time finding high-quality and durable items. Next time you want to acquire something new, think about these questions: Will it last? Is it comfortable? Can I pair it easily with other items? Will I wear it more than once? Is this my style? Is it worth it? If the item passes the test, take it home to your dream wardrobe.

Fashion is about expressing yourself while feeling comfortable. When it comes to building up your wardrobe, keep these tips in mind and you will have a closet full of pieces that match harmoniously and look amazing together. Build up your dream closet, and you won't keep finding yourself saying "I have nothing to wear" nearly every morning!
